Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The background of the 2014 Erasmus call is the implementation of the new Erasmus +Programme. The general objective is to fit as much as possible to the new Erasmus +, to increase the mobility participation rate, even if it seems utopic to reach the goal of 20% graduated students participating in the Erasmus mobility in 2020, but at least to create a tradition of mobility in our HEI.The operational objectives are: to develop the network of Erasmus partners for mobility for Studies, among others French-speaking partners for students of departments where foreign languages are hardly taught, to maintain and develop the impulse which started three years ago in mobility for Traineeship by a wider number of communication channels. The Erasmus activities bound to the implementation of the Erasmus + programme in the 2014 call are: - dialoguing at several levels to define and specify the modes of our involvement in the Programme (e.g. Newly-Graduated-student traineeship) - updating the information aimed at all the members of the educational community involved in mobility (Heads, students, departmental coordinators, teaching staff, support services) on the new modes and opportunities of the programme - adapting information documents used formerly and working out new documents for updated information and communication - adapting the former use and habits related to mobility to the new opportunities of Erasmus + (still retaining the assets of the former experience) - structuring the team of departmental coordinators in the 7 departments. We are pleased to notice that in our University College the number of students on a grant from the French Community Minister of Education making an application for an Erasmus mobility stay/traineeship is high, which shows that our student population from socio-economical lower classes is given access to mobility. Reading the reports filled in by the students when being back in their home country, you realize the impact that their mobility experience has on them, not only on the pedagogical level (usually good academic results) or ont he linguistic level, but also -and even more- the openness to the world and personal development. We aldo had some feedback from students (even when the academic year was just over) informing us that they had found a job at the end of their traineeship and that it could be partly due to the mention of Erasmus mobility in their CV. As far as teaching staff mobility during call 2014 is concerned,it consisted mainly in Training mobility, whose impact might be felt a bit later. Yet it has already been asked to our teaching staff members to put a larger emphasis on communication to the other members of the pedagogical teams and to think of a wider sharing even before theygo abroad, with effects expected for both fellow members of teaching staff and students. During call 2014, our University College has signed bilateral agreements with 5 HEIs for mobility for Studies, which will lead to exchanges during call 2015: several projects are already launched.
