Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

International mobility at Sciences Po Grenoble is one of its developing priority. Our institute has about 150 living international partnership, thus making it possible for our institute to welcome the equivalent of our first years students’ class (approximately 200 in 2014-15) as well as increasing outgoing mobility since the pedagogical reform with compulsory mobility (more than 300 outgoing students). All mobilities done at undergraduate or graduate level are entirely recognized by our institute as part of the degree thanks to the recognition and validation of ECTS. As such, Sciences Po Grenoble was expecting much from its participation to the Erasmus + programme. The various analyses made at the end of the first years of the reform match with the students’ feedbacks regarding this Erasmus + programme: 96 % were satisfied of their international mobility. The outgoing mobility at Sciences Po Grenoble increased in terms of quality and quantity by setting a compulsory mobility for all its second year students (undergraduate) as well as maintaining a mobility of specialisation at master’s level (academic specialisation or professional with a work placement). At the same time, Sciences Po Grenoble is always working at improving its welcoming quality for internationals by offering a set of richer and more diverse subjects as well as improving its pedagogical and material assistance. These stated determination regarding incoming and outgoing mobilities go along with a political will to further strengthen existing double degrees and to create new ones. Double degrees are part of our geographical priorities as well as our thematic and professional concerns. Despite the selectivity of its degree, Sciences Po Grenoble facilitates access to its programmes by organising particular study cycles for socially disadvantaged students. The generalisation of the international mobility during the second year aims to increase the level of qualification for our students as well as internationalising their academic career. Sciences Po Grenoble benefited from this programme as it helped improving the quality of its degree by generalising international mobility. The outgoing mobility must bring new assets to our students when incoming mobility contributes to the improvement of our programme and study degrees. The implementation of this year of international mobility provided an opportunity to reorganise the whole undergraduate programme through various changes: increase of interactive teaching, design of new inventive courses (e.g. writing workshops), reduction of traditional courses, and additional professional workshops… Sciences Po Grenoble is constantly working at giving better services to students in mobility, at developing together our various resources (European, national, regional or local), at reinforcing the readability of our priorities and at improving the training of our teaching and administrative staff.
