Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Nowadays, more and more companies are seeking internationalization and have numerous projects outside Spain. For such companies, the contribution of candidates who know the country, language and culture first hand, is a great competitive advantage. The Erasmus + Mobility Program for Higher Education (KA103) is a major factor in improving our students’ skills and employability. Through this program, and as a differentiating factor in our students’ curriculum, we give them the opportunity to improve their language skills and work experience in foreign companies by offering two types of mobility for their practices: taking the Workplace Training module in foreign companies and / or performing the mobility as recent graduates. The following vocational studies are offered by our school: Management Information Systems Network, Web Applications Development, Administration and Finance, and Commerce and Marketing, all of them higher level. Through the mobility scholarship offered by the Erasmus+ program, we try to achieve the following objectives: - Internationalize and modernize the Higher Level Training Cycles taught in our center. - Awaken interest among students for the knowledge of languages, culture and foreign customs. - Improve our students’ language skills and abilities. - Improve our students’ employment prospects. Four students have participated in the present project: - Administration and Finance: two mobility scholarships; in Malta and London. - Commerce and Marketing: one mobility scholarship in Braga, Portugal. - Web Applications Development: one student has performed two mobility scholarships; one in London and one in Oxford. In order to implement the project, the tutors of each course, heads of department, the foreign languages department, the counseling department and the management team, under the coordination of one of the members of the educational team, have made great efforts in: - Searching for quality companies with an appropriate profile for each degree. - Dissemination of the project in and outside our school. - Arrangement of compulsory documentation for mobility scholarships (interagency agreements, learning agreements, grant agreements, Europass documents ...) - Sudents’ training before mobility. - Carrying out a fair and transparent students’ selection process. - Monitoring and control of mobilities both electronically and in person, thus strengthening ties with partner companies. This project has had a clear impact on our center since our relationship with partner companies located in the European Union is increasingly closer, making them employment opportunities for our students and assuming the internationalization and modernization of the Vocational Training Higher Level studies that we teach. Thus, two of the four students who have done this type of mobility are currently working abroad and another has improved working conditions in Spain. The rest continue further studies. The participation of our institution in the project has clearly increased interest in learning foreign languages and knowledge of foreign culture and customs not only among students, but also between teachers and school staff. In addition, it has also been a great impact outside our organization and gives a vision abroad to be a region with quality of higher education curricula, updated and with an international opening. Moreover, the project helps disseminating information on European studies plans at local and regional level. In this sense, and thanks to the opportunity that we offer of taking training stays abroad, more and more students in our town and province are interested in studying at our center.
