Higher education student and staff mobility project

The Univesity of Cádiz has taken part from the beginning of the Erasmus Programme for the first time in 1987. The mobility has gradualy increased over the last 25 years, except for the two previous academic years in which, because of global crisis, the number of students has decreased. The main objectives of the Project were: 1- To improve the level of key competences and skills, with particular regard to their relevance for the labour market; 2 - Foster quality improvements, innovation excellence and internationalisation at the level of education and training institutions. 3 - Enhance the international dimension of education and training, in particular through cooperation between Programme and Partner – Country institutions in higher education, 4 - Improve the teaching and learning of languages and to promote the EU’s broad linguistic diversity and intercultural awareness. Mobility of Students for studies: 262. Mobility of students for placement: 46. Staff Mobility for Teaching: 120. Staff Mobility for Training: 87. Students: The Erasmus experience improves personal, academic and linguistic capabilities of both incoming and outgoing student, providing a better training and adaptability to labor market. Teacher mobility. It provides lecturers the possibility of adopting different teaching methodologies, the creation of research and teaching networks through which research projects are implemented. As part of the internationalization policy of the University and in order to launch a program of bilingual education and / or in English, the teaching staff mobility is essential in their formation. Training Staff Mobility. It provides administration staff and services with different working styles used at other universities for the exchange of management ideas in different programs or issues. It will also improve the language skills of staff of the UCA. For the institution. The University of Cadiz is very concerned with internationalization and consideres it one of the strategic axes of its university policy, in order to facilitate the flow of people and ideas, not only the establishment of links, but also the implementation of programs with common goals. In this way they are conducting numerous research projects, lectures and international doctoral theses. The significant presence of foreign incoming students in the city has led to a transformation of the social fabric and student level. Companies in the area benefit from the economic contribution associated with their presence and also directly by hosting some Erasmus trainees .
