Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In September 2014, ESAAA fully joined the ERASMUS programme which was previously underdeveloped. Thus, the 2014-2015 academic year has been a pivotal year for ESAAA regarding the mobility of students and staff members. The development of Erasmus mobility meets several objectives which include: - increasing the attractiveness of the school - improving its international visibility - establishing itself as a decisive actor in the field of art higher education. In addition, participation in a transnational partnership required to be at the level of one's interlocutors, to increase one's professionalism, and Erasmus therefore acts as a lever. The school also intends to improve the quality of its teaching through Erasmus as exhanges between lecturers at the international level raise the quality of teaching and are beneficial to the entire teaching staff as part of the feedback. Furthermore, stimulation, emulation, openness and development of networks have positive consequences on the artistic practices and activities of the students, staff, teachers and researchers of ESAAA. In 2014-2015, the ESAAA organized three mobilities. A second-year student studied for three months at Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey. Two artistic teaching professors also benefited from Erasmus through staff members mobility for training (in Innsbruck (Austria) and Malmö (Sweden)). The results of these mobilities are very positive as they have created a real momentum within the school; several students and staff members wish to go abroad for an Erasmus mobility in 2015-2016. Four students will go on Erasmus placement mobility at the start of the academic year, and several others are also interested to do an internship or study abroad later in the year. Beyond this enthusiasm for Erasmus, mobility enabled teachers to improve their English skills and to be trained in other artistic techniques. These mobility stays are also an opportunity to think possible partnerships between ESAAA and local art structures, develop strong links between the host country and France, and more particularly between the host organization and ESAAA and to prospect for future Erasmus exchanges for students.
