Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our High School is since more than 10 years active in the international field and more particularly in the Erasmus program. We have at heart to promote the exchange values and sharing, and this for information as for knowledge and new techniques. Our education is based on practice and the link with the professional world. This is the essential criteria in the choice of our partners, being schools or professionals. This year, 3 students form the tourism section had the opportunity to spend a quadrimestre in Spain (Zaragoza) which is an educational partner of choice since long. We also want to promote the internships in companies and in technical training centers. So our students apply in the field the knowledge given during the courses and can be confronted to the technical aspects and realities of the job. Our relationship with business is constant. That is why we have selected 12 students for a European internship and this goes for the bachelors as for the masters. The fields of study that are the most mobile are hotel management, tourism, garden and landscape architects, and also the chemical engineers or biochemists. The welcoming companies are all renowned and selected as much for the tasks assigned to the students as for the quality of their coaching work. Year after year we note a real enthusiasm for international internships; thus, the selection becomes more and more severe. The positive feeling of our students for these foreign internships especially encourages new students to do the same. The choice of our partners gives a more open mind about other communities and way of lives. This greatly enriches the students' potential and allows to make real European citizens integrated in their future daily life and work. The faculty is involved at the highest point in this choice of partners (as the professors validate the training environments), as also in supporting students during their search for a qualitative training environment. Through their studies or international internship, our students have a different view of live and this is a plus in their job search after graduation. Besides, the daily use of a foreign language makes them better candidates for international jobs. This internationalization of part of their curriculum allows them to achieve an even more complete training, open to the entire world, listening to the realities on the field. Students are also more autonomous in their efforts and approaches and have an adaptability to new situations even more marked.
