Higher education student and staff mobility project

The “Escola Superior de Ceràmica de Alcora” (ESCAL), Higher Education School of Ceramics in Alcora, was founded in 2005. It is a public centre, depending on the Valencian Goverment. ESCAL is a centre which offers qualified instruction in the different áreas about ceramics: Art, design, science and technology. ESCAL is located in Alcora, a city of a strong tradition on ceramics for more than 4 centuries, and is the center of a zone of great development of the ceramic industry. ESCAL has a very good relationship with these ceramic companies with collaboration on projects, publications and agreements. ESCAL cooperation with other Spanish universities regarding with research projects. Internationalization is one of the objectives of the ESCAL. It is a goal in itself and an essential component of the instruction and research process. Along the last ten years, the ESCAL has cooperated with over 20 institutions, including Spanish, European and South America ones. The main objectives from ESCAL regarding with Erasmus activities in the context of LLP are: • To provide mobility and qualification program for the teaching staff with the aim of investing in knowledge, artistic and scientific research . • To provide an Erasmus Guide in english and in spanish to the incoming and outgoing Exchange students. • To provide all the incoming exchange students with an original and free transcript of records in english or spanish. • To insure that both the incoming and outgoing students have a great satisfaction of the Erasmus exchange. • To promote the international activities of the administration staff. • To promote students mobility not only at educational centres but also at companies and industries for training with any relation with ceramic area. • To provide university staff with opportunities for profesional and personal development, through the possibility of doing practical training, research or teaching assingments in a partner institution • To consolidate links between institutions in different countries and strength th capacity for international cooperation. • To promote exchange of expertise and experience on pedagogical methods to prepare long-term recognition of studies between institutions through ECTS.
