Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The participants involved in this Erasmus+ project were Ramon LLull University (URL) as the sending institution, its students, some recent graduates (in the case of traineeships), the teaching and administrative staff of the university and the hosting partners, which have been higher education Institutions and enterprises. Transnational mobility is an intrinsic part of the internationalization strategy of the University. We consider that, in accordance with the programme objectives, it is essential to contribute to improving the quality and to increasing the volume of student and staff mobility throughout Europe. The project, as in previous calls, has contributed to offering the participants a high-quality international experience in a European institution with no discrimination in terms of disability, religion or gender. The beneficiaries of the Erasmus+ grants have improved their skills in foreign languages as well as their awareness of other cultures. The duration of this project was of 16 months and the mobility period was from 1st June until 30th September 2015. With regard to the student mobility, the student exchange has been carried out at the level of undergraduate and master degree programmes. As for student mobility for studies, the University allows its students to do their mobility stays either on 3rd or 4th year of their undergraduate studies, depending on the degree. The destination countries of the almost 100 partner institutions participating in this programme are as follows: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovakia, Finland, France, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Sweden and Turkey. Bilateral agreements have been signed with the receiving institutions a year in advance to the start of the mobility. As for the participants’ areas of study, they have covered all academic disciplines: Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, Engineering and Architecture. The average duration of the period abroad was between 4 and 5 months. With regard to the student’s mobility for traineeships, the placements mostly took place to do the Practicum, which is usually carried out during the 3rd or 4th year of the student’s undergraduate studies. Also some recent graduates have carried out their work placements during the first year following their graduation. Therefore, work placements have been either curricular (being part of the student’s study programme), or extra-curricular, as in the case of recent graduates. This project involved a total of 61 companies and institutions from the following countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Luxemburg, The Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom and the Czech Republic, covering all business fields. The average duration of the period abroad was between 2 and 3 months. The project also included staff mobility for teaching and for training. The URL teachers and staff are becoming more and more interested in doing mobility activities within the Erasmus+ programme. These placements enhanced the skills and abilities of the participants, fostered new contacts and contributed to increase the attractiveness and the international dimension of our university. Participants, as far as the teaching staff is concerned, have taught undergraduate, master or even doctorate students. These stays have taken place at different partner institutions based in the following countries: Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom. Our staff mobility for training came from different departments and levels in our University. They were vice-deans, teachers, heads of international relations, programme managers, and communication, admissions and academic administrative staff. Most hosting partners have been higher education institutions and, in some cases, companies. Destination countries were: Austria, Denmark, Finland, Portugal and the Czech Republic. The average duration of the stays for teaching and training was between 4 and 5 days. To sum up, the URL has conducted a total of 373 mobilities, covering all Erasmus+ modalities: student mobility for studies; student mobility for traineeships; staff mobility for teaching and staff mobility for training. Given the international prestige of our partner institutions and the good results obtained through the satisfaction questionnaires filled in by the participants in the mobility tool, the URL will continue to work with this programme complying with the ECHE commitments and always ensuring high-quality mobility activities for all its participants.
