Higher education student and staff mobility project

The institution, contributing to the mutual impact of participating countries on education, training and youth systems which supports policy reforms and helps to attract new resources for mobility possibilities in Europe and beyond, in the academic year 2014-2015 implemented a mobility project, the aim of which - offering opportunities for students, trainees and graduates, as well as for teachers and staff of education institutions to undertake a learning and professional experience in another country. 8 students for a study period, 8 students for a traineeship period, 4 graduates for a traineeship period, 6 lecturers for a teaching period and 10 staff members for a training period participated in the project in the academic year 2014-2015. Project participants students and graduates, having participated in the study or traineeship periods abroad, improved their learning performance, foreign language competencies and skills. Their sense of initiative and entrepreneurship has increased; they enhanced their intercultural awareness and after the mobility period abroad they have better awareness of the European project and the EU values. They increased their self-empowerment, self-esteem and their motivation for taking part in future education and training. After the mobility period abroad their employability has been enhanced and career prospects improved. Teachers and staff improved their competences, linked to their professional profiles. They improved their foreign language skills and competences, their motivation and satisfaction in their daily work increased; they received broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in education and training across countries. After the mobility periods abroad teachers and staff increased their capacity to trigger changes in terms of modernisation and international opening within the institution. Their support for and promotion of mobility activities for learners increased considerably. Better quality of their work and activities in favour of students, trainees and adult learners is noticed as well as greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity. Also the opportunities for their professional and career development have increased. The institution increased its capacity to operate at EU/international level, i.e. it improved management skills and internationalisation strategy, reinforced cooperation with partners from other countries, and increased the quality in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and follow up of EU/international projects. The institution has been developing in innovative and improved way of operating towards its target groups, by providing more attractive programmes for students and trainees, improving its processes of recognition and validation of competences gained during mobility periods abroad and attracting foreign students more effectively. The environment inside the institution became more modern, dynamic, committed and professional, ready to integrate good practices and new methods, cooperating with social partners more efficiently, open to synergies with organisations active in different social, educational and employment fields, planning strategically the professional development of its staff in relation to individual needs and institutional objectives, attracting excellent students and academic staff from all over the world.
