Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Since the 2014-15 academic year, the Conservatoire “G. Verdi” of Como has made itself present and visible on the European and extra European scenes by creating the Ufficio Relazioni Internazionali (URI, International Relations Office), which is also responsible for all activities concerning the Erasmus+ programme. In setting their action plan, the URI and its members (the coordinator, a teaching professor and two collaborators) have identified as their priority mission the implementing and sharing of the academic curriculum of a Higher Education Music and Performing Arts Institute such as their Conservatoire with their European partners. They have endeavoured to pursue such a task from a qualitative and quantitative point of view. The contents of the interinstitutional agreements have been carried out by the participants to the project in order to promote musical culture and education in the professional and work-related fields. The strategy the URI has put into place to develop the Erasmus+ programme, Higher Education, Key Action 1, Mobility of Individuals, has obtained very positive results, which are evident in the increase of actual mobilities achieved: a total of 16, divided into 3 Student mobilities for Study (SMS) and 13 Staff mobilities for Teaching Assignments (STA). The Erasmus programme coordinators and the Conservatoire’s department chiefs have worked together at the organization of students’ mobilities; all the students involved have smoothly completed their education experiences in the given timeframe and obtained the credits due for attendance and for passing the exams in their syllabus. The teachers involved in teaching assignments have fully met the objectives set in the Teaching Agreement, thus enriching the academic curriculum of the institutes they carried out their mobilities at. Mobility planning and organization have also led to signing new interinstitutional agreements with European Universities interested in developing and consolidating international cooperation aimed at mutual support.
