Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The College of Nyíregyháza offers a wide range of educational programs. Based on the number of students, the most popular programs are: teacher-training, engineering, agricultural sciences, economics, sports, natural sciences and informatics. The liberal arts, social sciences and art mediation are proportionally present in the education, considering the interests of the incoming and outgoing participants. In the course of the past few years we have established many new partnerships with universities of the neighboring countries via different projects. On one hand to improve and join the professional fields, to improve the financial and language barriers, on the other hand to gain mutual experience in student/staff mobility and to promote joint-thinking and joint action. The Erasmus+ scholarship presents unique opportunity for the students of the College of Nyíregyháza to study in a foreign country or do the traineeships abroad. Since many students face language barriers, the most often chosen programs are the ones located in our neighboring countries due to the fact that they are able to study in Hungarian there, as well. For this reason, the outgoing mobility has increased towards our partner institutes in Romania.. When establishing new inter-institutional agreements, our primary aim is to join new education fields and provide more opportunities in all Erasmus+ participants. The frequent revision of our inter-institutional agreements is necessary to follow-up with the current changes in Higher Education. On one hand, we have expanded the number of education fields based on the needs of our local institutions: we have reached out for new opportunities for our students of teacher-training and revised our agreements with the University of Oradea and Poznan University of Technology. On the other hand, we have strengthened our existing partnerships (Freiburg, St. Pölten.) Students participating in traineeship mobility find and contact the most suitable companies based on their field of studies. The most popular are the ones located in the neighboring countries, due to the above mentioned facts. Participating in a traineeship program abroad in various enterprises, companies, institutions has a number of advantages: besides improving one?s professional skills, the experience helps the improvement of a number of competencies i.e. communications skills, problem solving ability, cooperation skills, adaptability, dependability and responsibility, social sensitivity and strong work ethic. The College of Nyíregyháza welcomes students and teachers/staff to all of our Erasmus+ mobility programs. Our most popular education fields for the incoming participants are: engineering, agriculture, science, economics. This year we have welcomed students to our teacher training, as well. The top priorities of our outgoing students in choosing the target country are: the fields of education, the available languages and the funding of the program. Our students prefer low cost countries since the majority of them are not able to supplement their Erasmus+ grant. The top priority of our institute is to offer up to par and competitive education to the students, to enhance their chances not only in the Erasmus+ mobility programs but in the job market, as well. The staff mobility for teaching and training has become more and more popular in our institute to gain experience in various professional fields. The geographical situations of the institute, the history of the country and the recent cross-border projects have strengthened our relations with the Romanian institutes. Equally important that we have good professional relations with the Poznan University of Technology, Cracow University of Technology, four universities in Turkey, which are the most popular in student and staff mobility programs. To sum up: The Erasmus+ strategy of the College of Nyíregyháza respects the quality requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education in all aspects related to the organization and management of before, during and after the mobility. We aim to provide the conditions for more fruitful international cooperation in the future. In the course of the Erasmus+ programs we offer transparency, up to date information, equal opportunities for all participants.
