Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Oct 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This report under the Erasmus+ is associated to the project number 2014-1-PT01-KA103-000740 - a Consortium established between ISCEM - Instituto Superior de Comunicação Empresarial (P LISBOA58) (the coordinator), ISAG - Instituto Superior de Administração e Gestão (P PORTO16) and several Portuguese companies (namely ERC, Lewis, Torke Stunt, Porter Novelli) so-called UNEP - University Network for Erasmus Placement. This thematic Consortium in areas such as Marketing Management, Business Communication, Tourism and Hospitality Management was created to improve and enrich the cooperation between HEI and companies, in both quantitative and qualitative dimensions. At the same time, HEI are accomplishing with their internationalization strategy: when HEI send their students to perform traineeships in foreign companies, not only the enterprise is benefiting of all the technical knowledge that students have acquired in their home universities, but also students can learn a lot of the procedures applied in that country/company and bring that knowledge back to their home HEI. So, all the network that is developed only through an international internship is very rich and important for all involved parties - the trainee, the company and the HEI. They are all essential for a good performance of this Consortium. This project has contributed to improve the quality of training policies and practices; a closest contact to the European business; to provide participants practical experiences that facilitate their integration in the labor market; exchange of experiences between HEI and host companies in order to adapt new teaching methods and training programmes and so on. The coordinator of the Consortium and also the HEI partner have traineeships included in their academic programmes once both institutions are aware of the importance of the practical dimension. Through this Erasmus+ Consortium it was possible to match this important ideology/strategy and improve it to an international level since the creation of this partnership. Students who benefited from this mobility programme under the Consortium had employment opportunities. Regarding the number of mobilities achieved it is possible to say that the number is satisfactory, once it was possible to provide five traineeships to students in different academic situations, to share different cultures and languages, to increase their personal enrichment, to obtain a good feedback from the participants and increase the network of enterprises involved. All of them enjoyed each minute of their Erasmus experience and loved staying abroad. There is a balance between participants' gender, and we noticed an interest in this kind of mobility among students of the first year. This fact proves that our effort to create interest among all students had some profits, and once this is a new rule of Erasmus+ programme (traineeships from the 1st year), we can say that the number of students achieved was satisfactory.
