Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Erasmus + project during 2014-2015 had an important improvement both on quality and quantity levels. During 2013-2014 there were four outgoing students (SMS mobility) and only one of them stayed for the whole year and took some exams. During 2014-215 the number of students rose to eight and four stayed for the whole year and took exams. The numbers for mobility for placement (SMP) and mobility for staff and teaching(STA) were more or less the same as the previous year. Given that our University specializes in the studies of languages, the first objective for our students that took part in the Erasmus project was an improvement in language competence and knowledge. Related to teaching mobility (1 teacher), both the comparison between foreign didactical methods and the contribution that this exchange can bring to language teaching and in linguistic mediation teaching were important. Concerning the training mobility, the objective was to increase the relationship with foreign institutions involved in the Erasmus+ program for a better activity’s development. On the other hand, the improvement in language skills was considered important also for the training mobility. In particular, each staff member focused on the achievement of the linguistic skills of his/her specific field to improve the service efficiency. Concerning the outgoing mobility, during 2014-2015 there were eight SMS mobilities, four SMP mobilities, three STA mobilities (teaching and training). The foreign countries involved were: Belgium, Germany, Malta and Spain for the SMS; UK, Malta and Spain for the SMP and Germany, UK and Ireland for the STA. About the incoming mobility there were six SMS mobilities (from Belgium, Germany and Spain), one SMP mobility (from UK ) and 1 STA mobility (from Germany) The most important goal was the student’s improvement in their linguistic competence and knowledge. But they have also acquired a wider prospective to consider their study and work future, also seen in an international context. Moreover the students that have done an Erasmus project experience often show a more constructive attitude also when they come back to ordinary academic activity. For this reason we want to increase the Erasmus + project both on a quality level (in 2015-2016 the SMS outgoing mobilities are double again) and a quantity level (we have done a formal request for KA 107 project for a staff and student exchange with Moscow University).
