Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Unitelma Sapienza University is a distance learning university that was established in Italy by the Ministry for Education, University and Scientific Research in 2004. Its main goal is the promotion and implementation of educational, training and research activities that combine the juridical, management and economic knowledge with the professional capabilities that are necessary to manage complex enterprise systems and public organizations with a particular attention to new technologies. Unitelma Sapienza internationalisation programme, on which our european policy statement is based, was developed by our International office and approved by the Chancellor of Unitelma Sapienza. The aim is to increase the number of Unitelma Sapienza students pursuing studies abroad, and to extend our participation in Erasmus course development programmes. It is also essential that we create more opportunities for internationalization at home. With a view to increasing teacher mobility Unitelma Sapienza has instituted travel awards to encourage and recognize excellence in teaching achievement on our courses. In the selection of partner institutions (University, enterprises) for exchange agreements, Unitelma Sapienza considers the institutions that offer adequate descriptions of their programmes, including credits, learning outcomes, teaching/learning approaches and assessment methods, whose standards are adequate for our students, so as to accept their teaching and assessment procedures without requiring any further work or assessment. Agreements will be made with institutions offering similar programmes. Through participation to the European Agenda Unitelma Sapienza intends to contribute to the achievement of all the priorities set out by the European community. In particular by promoting mobility in Europe and abroad of their students and teachers to contribute in improving the level of qualification of graduates and researchers of European citizens. Particular attention will be given to students from under-represented groups, such as adults and students with disabilities. Improving the quality and relevance of their educational offer through the exchange of experiences gained from their professor and from their management. The university Unitelma Sapienza has achieved the EUC in 2012. The first mobility program began with the academic year 2013-2014. In particular were signed five bilateral agreements with universities in Poland, Turkey, France, Spain and Portugal. These agreements provided incoming and outgoing mobility of students, teachers and staff. Based on these findings the objectives set by the management of Unitelma Sapienza for the period 2014-2020 are: 1)promoting mobility of students, teachers and staff with the achievement of an adequate level of movements, 2) incrementing the number of bilateral agreements extending the action to other on-line universities in Europe and in the world, 3) starting placement agreements with companies to allow students to improve their skills and knowledge; 4) participating in European calls involving partnership as coordinators and / or components of the working group. Relativamente al primo punto la mobilità dello staff è aumentata, al contrario quella degli studenti non è partita a causa di una scarsa adesione degli studenti al bando predisposto dall’ateneo. We have had an increment in staff mobility on the contrary we had a poor adhesion from students to the university call, mainly due to the fact that 78% of our student population is older than the normal student and is already working.. Particularly , teachers' interest to teach in partner universities has increased. During the last year and , for subsequent years funding for staff mobility ( teaching) shall be awarded through a selection of the proposals that best adhere to our Erasmus goals. The number of agreements the same has increased both from the numerical point of view and from the point of view of the number of partner countries . Agreements are stipulated with European universities, that mainly have the possibility of teachings in English. Unfortunately we have had no adhesions to the call for trainship, due to the fact that our student population is comprised of adults that already work and thus cannot ask for leave.
