Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Dania Academy of Higher Education (Erhvervsakademi Dania) has approximately 3,000 full-time students in 8 campusses and 21 study programs. Of these 5 are taught in English. In line with the government’s wish for internationalisation in Danish Higher Education Institutions and with the Academy’s own strategies, Dania focuses on giving both students and staff the opportunity to go abroad. This Erasmus+ project very much contributed to the realization of the institution’s internationalisation strategies. The following activities were applied for and the goals were reached as mentioned in parentheses: SMP: 110 mobilities (116) Special Needs SMP: 1 mobility (1) SMS: 10 mobilities (4) STT: 8 mobilities (2) STA: 8 mobilities (3) Regarding study and traineeship stays, the target group of the project was Danish and international students in 2-year short-cycle higher study programs (IT, technical and business programs), in one Bachelor top-up program (International Hospitality Management) and in one Bachelor program (Optometry). One student received Special Needs support because of his cancer illness. As for teaching and training stays, the target group was all employees of the institution, but only lecturers took advantage of the opportunity. The project concerns mobility, for which reason the activities included study stays and traineeships of a duration between 3 and 12 months for students. The majority of the participants did traineeships and only a few study stays. At the same time, the academy received incoming students from partner universities in its English-taught programs. The mobility activities for staff consisted of both training and teaching stays, all at partner universities. Furthermore, the academy received guest lecturers from partner institutions. The quantitative results of the project are shown above. The project has contributed to participants obtaining an increased outlook, tolerance and intercultural competences, among many other things. Students have improved their chances in a labour market with ever-increasing demands for international experience and independence. The staff has extended their international network and improved their ability to include international aspects in their lecturing. In general, the project has contributed to increased internationalisation at all levels at Dania Academy of Higher Education.
