Higher education student and staff mobility project

Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp (AP) provides higher education programs for 9000 students in the areas of Health, Science, Technology, Business, Communication & Journalism, Law & Management Sciences, Socio-educational Care Work, Education and Arts. AP is organized in 4 departments and 2 Schools of Arts and it aims to provide qualitative education focusing on the labor market in a fully international context. The university helps students to become true European citizens promoting a European outlook and organizing activities such as a European study week, regular international study visits, intensive multicultural programs, student and staff mobility etc. In addition, the university has a strong research expertise and is active in national as well as international research projects. It is also cooperating with multinationals, SMEs, entrepreneurs and local government agencies, both on national and international level. The objectives, which follow from this international strategy are to: • raise the mobility of students and teachers with the guarantee of quality and reciprocity; • actively stimulate the mobility of the administrative staff members and management; • implement an international dimension within each programme; • raise Internationalisation@home through activities and incorporation of an international dimension in the curricula; • create a framework for the exchange of international experiences, for staff members and students; • build broad, integrated, multidisciplinary cooperation with international partners; • guarantee complete participation and equal opportunities for everyone. In the year 2014-2015, AP realized the following mobility numbers: • SMS: 108 • SMP: 63 • STA: 62 • STT: 4 To realise our international goals, AP International Office and International coordinators in the study-programmes support all aspects of mobility. These activities include amongst others: • Provide information to all stakeholders concerning mobility programs through information sessions, website, intranet, digital learning platforms and e-mail • Provide language support • Provide guidelines for administration • Selection of participants • Provide support on content level • Assistance on personal level before, during and after the mobility • Provide support on projectmanagement • Financial management of funding. • Progress- and endreport Impact of the mobility-programme can be situated on student , staff and institutional level. On student and staff level: • Personal growth • Training of international competences • Training of professional skills On institutional level: • International benchmark • Profiling AP as an international centre of knowledge and education • Strengthening the international network and partnerships including the professional field.
