Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

First of all it is important to draw up a context of the activities. The Academic Year 2014/2015 can be Considered as a "new starting point " for our Music Academy due to many reasons : first of all the need to handle a new program , the E + 14-20 launched by the EU , but also handle the appointment of a new erasmus coordinator , as well as deal with a new view in terms of workload management. This new view needs to be carried out through a dedicated office which need to face new challenges , a new and more structured paperwork and , in general , new activities . Our institution can be considered as rather small sized: for the A.Y. it was endowed with 213 1st or 2nd cycle students , 72 teachers and 8 persons of the administrative staff . Our project's background comes from the erasmus policy statement published in our webpage, but also descends from the more general guidelines set by the management; it moves on , at the same time, from all the previous experience gained during the LLP program through an established network of relationships. Internationalisation,as well as the capability to cope with a new global dimension, in order to benefit our students and our Institution, are for sure some of the main aims in the incoming future; it will be possible only through several intermediate achievements. In our opinion there are two keywords for boosting in the next few years the project among students and staff: Knowledge and Communication. Knowledge as Awareness. Every possible beneficiary of the project (but not only) should be aware of the possibilities offered and of the positive outcomes on various levels; Communication as a necessary tool to achieve the above mentioned intermediate goal. The following is the participant's summary of the 14/15 project: n.2 Students for study, n.6 Staff for teaching. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to catch up with the previsions concerning students and Staff for training's mobility (see the specific detailed fields below), while the one concerning the Staff for teaching activity was increased. As previously written 2 mobilities for study took place: the first one in Germany (Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe) has covered the whole Academic Year, while the other one (Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel) was extended from 3 month to 5 (II Sem.). Both of the involved pupils have been studying in Novara for years, obtaining respectively a Vecchio Ordinamento Horn Diploma (according to the old rules) and a 1st Cycle Piano Diploma, thus taking part in the project as 2nd Cycle students. The mobility for studies, as often happens, was led by students' interest towards specific renowned Teachers while, on the other hand, the mobility for teaching was driven and boosted mainly by the attractiveness of our programme of studies. More precisely the Lietuvos muzikos ir teatro akademija Vilnius (with which we had already realized mobilities in the past) displayed great interest towards our Baroque and Early music department and, therefore, decided to invite 3 teachers of ours: Early Singing, Baroque Cello, Basso Continuo - Organ Practice, in the perspective of gaining necessary knowledge, making thus possible to widen their didactical offer through the establishment of a proper own Ancient Music department, in the forthcoming future. The mobility of our "group of representatives" is to consider as a major success, since it had revealed itself as fruitful in the optic of develop our international relations as well as the mutual awareness of new possibilities offered by the E+ Programme; all the values were disseminated by the participant to their collegues, during everyday life in our Conservatoire, but also during more formal meetings The two Institutions do agree in continuing the relationship, taking it to a more organized and structured level, in order to get mutual benefit from our own knowledges. By the way, 3 more Staff for Teaching's mobilities were realized: two of them originated from personal contacts and personal arrangements of our professors with their foreign collegues (Oboe - Akademia Muzyczna im. I.J. Paderewskiego w Poznaniu; Composition - Conservatorio Superior de Música "Salvador Seguí" de Castellón ), while the last one was carried out on an Erasmus' office proposal, in the optic of putting an effort in fostering Internationalisation through the strenghtening of the relation with The music Academy of Poznan. Results and impact of the 14/15 program can be considered as positive and fruitful after all, looking forward to developing our International dimension in the forthcoming future thanks to intermediate achievements such as the previously mentioned Communication and Awareness.
