Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The International Policy of the ENSG relies on networking with numerous higher education and research institutions. It also takes advantage of the alumni network. The ENSG aims to train future professionals open to major global issues and able to work abroad. In a context of continued increase of the number of students in the establishment since 2013, the ENSG wish to energize and develop international mobility to and from the establishment as well as strengthening its network in Europe. If no particular region is targetted, the mobility to non-French-speaking countries are encouraged. The intended organisations, universities, research institutes, companies, are specialized in Geomatics, consistent with the Erasmus Programme Strategy ENSG. Outgoing Students Mobility for Placement have an important place in the international mobility of ENSG. Students must indeed spend at least 12 weeks abroad. Primary objective of the 2014 project, these mobilities should be supported because they represent an incredible opportunity to discover another culture. However, the Student Mobility for Studies, incoming just as well as outgoing, were largely underrepresented. The second objective of the Erasmus + project in 2014 is to develop these mobilities. Given the number of students in ENSG, an average of one incoming and one outgoing mobility per year would be a reasonable first goal. Finally, ENSG has chosen to primarily affect the Erasmus + funding to student's mobility rather than teaching and training mobilities, these mobilities can be financed by other means. During the 2014 project, 10 students' mobilities were planned. This target was nearly achieved: 9 students have benefited from Erasmus Programme funding. This student group consisted of 4 women and 5 men. A student has benefited from the Erasmus + program as part of a study mobility, the other 8 students under mobility for placement. One internship mobility has been canceled due to health problems of the student. His mobility has been postponed in time. Hosting two Czech students for the academic year 2014-2015 was the opportunity to set up a reception of foreign students, particularly through the appointment of a guardian teacher in charge of the smooth running of the scholar year of the two students. The outgoing mobilities are accompanied through individualized monitoring. The Erasmus + project allowed us to strengthen student internship mobility, as well as develop incoming and outgoing Mobilities for Studies. Concerning the destination countries of mobility, in line with our objectives these are all non-French-speaking countries. All host organisations were specialized in Geomatics and may be potential partners in our business. Mobilities with Norway and Germany are particularly promising in the long term.
