Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Participation in the Erasmus+ program – including especially student and staff mobility – is at the heart of our threefold strategy for international relations: enhanced quality in academics and research, increased levels of internationalization, and improvements in the rigor and transparence of our policies and procedures. Participation in Erasmus+ key action 1 is a springboard to (further) development of our mobility programs. In addition, the launch of the new Erasmus+ program has allowed us to mette several goals : • Updating all of our international agreements, with an emphasis on active exchanges. Particular attention has been paid to the quality of our partner institutions, and of our relations with those institutions; we have also examined the balance between incoming and outgoing mobility. • An extensive review of our internal procedures, with the aim of ensuring a quality academic experience for all of our students. This review was undertaken with Erasmus+ goals and criteria in mind, and managed in a spirit of teamwork and internal cooperation. • Strategies to involve a wider range of university staff in academic mobility; an initiative undertaken jointly with Human Resources. • New incentives for teacher mobility, including financial support in the International Relations Department. • An steady increase in SMS mobility (up 38% since 2010) The principal benefits of this project have been for students: 97% say that they are satisfied with their exchange experience, and nearly 90% say that they are more confident in their skills and abilities. International mobility experiences are also appreciated by our staff, who say that they have acquired specific skills as a result of their exchanges, and that the experience has added to their job satisfaction. In addition to the greater energy afforded by exchanges, this project has also been an opportunity to develop additional dual-degree programs, and to build a wider international influence.
