Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our University has been established in 1925. Since its foundation it is the most progressed and flagship university in Hungary in the field of sport. All coaches of the Hungarian Olympic medallists and 90 (out of 168) Hungarian Gold Medallist graduated at TF (current University of Physical Education). Although the Hungarian population is relatively low, we have significant results on the Olympic Medal Ranking not only in Gold, but in Silver (149), Bronze (169) and total (486) categories that puts Hungary no. 8. In the world ranking. At the time of the application for Erasmus call 2014 TF was working in cooperation with Semmelweis University as it was one of its faculty since 2000. Our institution regained its independence on the 1st of September, 2014. This separation was based a parliamental decision based on the government?s proposal. It generated several issues in Erasmus as well, which needed to be resolved, besides the other usual administrational tasks. All existing bilateral agreements needed to be renewed. Previously the Erasmus coordination was handled by Semmelweis University in a central office, and TF had only a Faculty coordinator. For this reason, we had to restructure the entire Erasmus coordination and appoint an institutional coordinator, who manages the tender applications to the National Agency, and prepares the interim and final reports. The main aim was to establish new cooperation and strengthen the already existing partnerships, carry out, and increase the number of student and staff mobilities, enlarging the knowledge and experience of the participants of the program. The Erasmus program has a very high importance with it?s role in the internationalisation aspect of the University. We have used 98.40% of the allocated grant. 32 person participated in the Erasmus program from the University of Physical Education, and we hosted 22 incoming students (TF) in the academic year of 2014/15. The organisational grant was used for cultural events, excursions, promotional materials and gifts for the incoming and outgoing Erasmus students. The participants have long term benefits from their mobility, including their personal contacts, and experiences that they can use in their personal life. They develop skills, and gained experiences, which can be used in their daily practice and the job market.
