Higher education student and staff mobility project KA1 Erasmus+ between programme countries o Context and background of the project The Balearics School of Art and Design, founded in 1779 and based in Palma, is the only state Higher Education Institution in the Balearic Islands for specific professional design studies for Short Cycle studies (VET in Artistic Jewellery, Illustration & Photography), and for 1st Cycle studies (BA in Design, with four specialities in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design & Product Design. The EASDIB joined the Erasmus/LPP program in 2008, according with the schedule explained below: ? The incoming SMS students' mobility started in 2009-2010; ? The incoming STA staff's mobility started in 2009-2010; ? The outgoing SMS students' mobility started in 2010-2011; ? The outgoing STA staff's mobility started in 2010-2011; ? The incoming STT staff's mobility started in 2011-2012; and ? The outgoing STT staff's mobility started in 2013-2014. The outgoing SMT students' mobility started in 2008-2009 (LdV/LPP) and 2013-2014 (Erasmus/LPP) through a consortium with the CAEB. o Outcomes The Erasmus Policy Statement 2014-2020 sets the key objectives for the 2014-2020, which are: ? To raise the EASDIB international profile through partnerships; ? To promote EASDIB students & staff mobility; ? To encourage students to gain experience in studying or working abroad; ? To provide academic and social opportunities for EASDIB students & staff to interact with students from other countries; ? To ensure students are prepared for a global working environment, and to facilitate the development of a curricula which reflect this; ? To promote longer-term and sustainable networks and partnerships with HEI and other organisations in research, teaching and enterprise for mutual benefit; ? To enhance the quality of EASDIB teaching activities & research. o Number and profile of participants 19 people have participated in call 2014-2015: ? 12 of them were students (4 men and 8 women; 5 students with disadvantaged backgrounds), 4 for Graphic Design, 6 for Interior Design, 1 for Fashion Design, 1 for Product Design); ? 7 of them were teachers (2 men and 5 women), 4 of them participated for the very first time. o Description of activities Throughout 2012-2015 ESADIB has managed the SMS students? mobility and the staff?s mobility, both STA and STT. There was a consortium with the CAEB for the SMT students? mobility. o Results and project?s impact, and long-temp benefits too The Erasmus+ mobility programme is a good opportunity to stimulate not only students but also staff, and a basic issue to internationalise the design curriculum, and these are the main impacts according to the EASDIB Erasmus Policy Statement 2014-2020. Maybe, the EASDIB has not increased the number of students? mobility, but for sure it has increased the number of staff?s mobility.
