Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Kecskemét College carries out its activities with a wide range of different partners. The College cooperates with small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, professional associations, institutions and local authorities to lay the foundations for economic development in the region. Besides Erasmus and CEEPUS programmes, several bilateral institutional cooperations, projects, and conferences show the boundless network of the College. Being a small college the institution?s financial and staff resources are limited. Consequently, the institutional internationalization strategy focuses on a limited number of strategic targets and alliances with international partners. The strategic targets mainly focus on mobility activities for students, staff and lecturers as well as on internationally oriented curricula and on internationalization at home. In regards to cooperation with partner institutions in teaching and training, the internationalization strategy therefore defines different levels of cooperation. Whereas mobility activities are realized with the majority of partners, it is the aim of the College to establish strategic cooperation with a limited number of partners. These strategic cooperation agreements have the aim of establishing structured, intensive and long-term cooperation, especially regarding curriculum development, the development of additional course offerings for Kecskemét College graduates (for example PhD studies) and research projects. In regards to further international projects in teaching and research, Kecskemét College is also highly interested in developing a few selected networks together with colleges, universities, companies and organizations. But being a small college with students of language problems and week social background it is a big step for us. Placement mobility and after diploma mobility are getting more popular. Students understand the big advantages for them focusing on their future working life. OLS support was a new element in this project which was regular used by our students. Great success for us is the opening of our new module: European Literacy and Citizenship Education ELICIT. The University of Córdoba (ES), the ESPE of Bretagne Occidentale(FR), the University of Stockholm (SE) and the Kecskemét College(HU) are the four responsible (and core) institutions in charge of the signing and running the first courses on European Citizenship for teacher education. This course, that has implemented its first edition in September 2014, has 30 ECTS. The real strength of this course is the power of its inner design, as: It can be adapted by any European Higher Education Institution. It allows validation and recognition of students? competences acquired in different institutions in an easy way (even automatically). It promotes international participation based on mobility (for both, students and teachers). It makes possible the recognition and use of both the concept and feeling of European citizenship by European citizens. It ensures the way to allow European school teachers to develop (and teach) European citizenship to pupils at schools. The Kodály and the Hungarian contemporary music education module still attracts lot of students from Ireland and Barcelona. In general our 2014/15 Erasmus+ project Kecskemét College could meet the requirements settled in the in the grant agreement. All original quantitative and qualitative objectives of the project were met. The number of student mobility is constantly growing in a slowly way.
