Higher education student and staff mobility project

The National Dance Academic of Rome (AND) is the only Department for choreutic studies in Italy recognized by the Ministry for education, University and research. Founded in 1948 as an artistic Institute for Dance, in 1999, through the highest artistic formation reform, it has turned into the centre for high 1st and 2nd level degrees, Specialization, Master and Doctorate in dance technique (classical and contemporary), didactic of Dance and Choreography. Its beautiful location on the Aventino, one of seven ancient hill of Rome, makes the AND a special place to visit and work in. Two large stages at the open air and one smaller inside the main building give all sorts of possibilities from professional performances to individual work in progress. Over 500 students of all ages (from the pre-academic courses to the high level Masters) with over 90 teachers in charge of the different disciplines thought and practiced within the courses (practical, theoretic and practical-theoretic). Inside there is a bar-restaurant, a very beautiful garden and a Library where are archived also a considerable number of old texts. AND considers important to promote awareness between different cultures, and to develop an exchange of knowledge between the northern European and Mediterranean area countries. In 2014/2015 the Academy had 10 study mobility for students (SMS), 3 mobility for traineeship (SMP), 8 staff mobility for teaching (STA), and 3 mobility for Training (STT). It also had 13 incoming students to study mobility (SMS) and 8 incoming teachers for teaching mobility (STA). The Academy has been able to date to make known its training abroad, in order to increase the presence of students from other countries, promoting the development of excellence at European level, and outside Europe, and by placing the focus on exchange especially to the countries of the Mediterranean basin with which they are already activated cooperative relations. The goal is thave agreements between educational institutions, dance companies, theaters, NGOs, local authorities and European, in order to encourage the culture of dance and the application of good practices in the cooperation, the exchange in internationally and create a platform for the future of dance at the institutional level and European.
