Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

For years, our high school has opened up its secondary-education European-section classes (fifth forms, sixth forms and Upper-Sixth forms) internationally through a twinning with Germany and Spain and Comenius programme…). As for higher education, we have had an ERASMUS Charter since 2003, (renewed in 2007), and an ERASMUS+ programme since 2014. In the framework of the BTS (HND) Tourism training, the goals of the ERASMUS+ mobility programme, are for the students to facilitate the acquisition and improvement of language and working skills, and for the teachers, to share educational practices. In 2014/2015 our ERAMUS+ exchange-scheme programme permitted us to achieve 9 student mobility, which included: 2 two-month work-placements; 4 three-month student mobility (one in Spain and one in Turkey). The work placements took place in “Hôtels clubs” where student worked in the entertainment or the reception fields. During their stay abroad, some of our students had the opportunity to do an internship either with a Tourism Office (Coruňa) or a Travel Agency (Madrid). The second-year students who take part in the programme, considerably improve their language skills. What’s more, the value of credits they earn in their welcoming universities are recognised in France and contribute to their getting the BTS diploma. As for the first-year students who take part in the programme, the linguistic progress they make and the new skills they acquire are conspicuous. It goes without saying that in the long term the rewards of this programme are multiple: for the students, because these experiences will enrich their CVs, and for our high school by allowing us to continue the existing agreements or to create new ones with European universities or companies.
