The EASD Antonio Failde (School of Art and Design) in Ourense is a public school dependent on the Ministry of Education of the Xunta de Galicia (the Galician autonomous government). The educational on offer is a Higher Education in visual arts and comprises a wide range of specialist modules given in "superior" training courses and the Bachelor of Arts in Design Studies which is equivalent to a Spanish university degree. All the qualifications are officially accredited and free, and it is also possible to apply for a grant from the education authorities. The EASD has a vast experience in European Projects given that they have participated in these international projects for the last years. Results of this long-term participation include their experience as well as the large network of collaborative centres with whom they have forged relationships during this time. These are mainly universities and training centres in the EU as well as other universities from outside the EU boarders including India, EEUU, Perú, China, Japón. As part of this current project a total of 7 students received Erasmus + grants. 5 of these travelled thanks to student grants (SMS) to various arts schools in Portugal (2 students), Italy (2 students) and Lithuania (1student). The students who received internship grants (SMP) travelled to Finland. Furthermore, the teacher who received a mobility training grant (STT) travelled to the same centre in Italy as the students. The primary objectives that the centre has with the running of this type of project are the following: - To increase the number of qualified students thanks to their immersion programme in other training centres which gives them a broader overview of the Arts as a subject. - To increase the importance and quality of further education in the EU, mainly via the mobility flows across the European Area. - To reinforce the quality of their education via mobility between countries. These objectives are the main long-term impact that the centre expects to achieve through these mobility actions.
