Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

School center Škofja Loka wants to assure individual mobility abroad for as many students and lecturers as possible to be able to obtain internationally comparative knowledge, competences, skills and experience in their specialist area, meet new cultures and friends, upgrade knowledge of foreign languages. Thus they will be able to adapt to continuous changes in their specialist areas and to act responsibly as EU and world citizens. In the Erasmus+ 2014 we used the money resources for two types of mobility: for practical training of a student and for training of a lecturer. Since our institution is the Erasmus university chart bearer we regularly inform our students and staff about the possibilities offered by Erasmus+ program. There is a special part of our webpage which informs about calls and reports. Erasmus + program and current call are presented to students on introductury lecture every year plus on a meeting for practical training organization. Erasmus+ coordinator is available for questions and additional information personally or via e-mail. The possibilities of participating in Erasmus + for lecturers and other staff are presented on introductory lecturers' assembly, in the internet staff room and on meetings of subject working groups. For the 2014 call there was a lot of interest. However, there were finally two applications, by a lecturer and by a student. We organized practical work in Belgium for the applied student with help of Erasmus+ coordinator from the Belgium school with which we cooperate in the frame of Erasmus + secondary woodworking and metalworking schools. We found a working placement for the student as well as accommodation, organized transfer from the Brussles airport and organized a meeting with Belgium students who were at the time training in Slovenian companies before the departure. An agreement about practical training was also prepared and signed before the departure. We were weekly in contact via e-mail with the student and with his Belgium mentor during mobility. The student's knowledge of a foreign languages was tested before and after the mobility and he also had a chance to learn by internet. After returning the student presented experience gained during mobility to students and lecturers, wrote an article about his impressions on the internet page and filled in the mobility report. His trainig was completely acknowledged by credit points. The lecturer who had training and monitoring on a work post in Great Britain had contacted both companies before departure to settle the program of training and monitoring on the work post. An agreement among the schools sender and receiver and the lecturer was signed in beforehand. The participant presented her mobility and results to her co-workers and students and published an article on the webpage of the school. As a result of the training we are preparing a course on restoring windows in the frame of »restoration school« which is performed by more partners under the Slovenian historical towns association and is intended for old houses owners and craftsmen restoring old furniture. The course will take place in autumn 2016. The participant made connections with some British institutions to prepare some common development projects in the future.
