Higher education student and staff mobility project

The Secondary School (IES) Rosalia de Castro is a public school center in Santiago de Compostela which is an university town. IES Rosalia de Castro teachs Secondary School, high school levels, International Baccalaureate Diploma and Vocational training studies concerning three professional families: hospitality and tourism, sports and physical activities and socio cultural and tourist activities. The Erasmus+ program is a priority activity for the High school, where the management of the student mobility is organized by the person in charge of the Coordination Program, with the support of vocational training tutors and with the participation of the entire teaching staff, especially vocational teachers. The goals which teachers from the high school want to get for their students are to reach specific goals from each professional vocational family such as the implementation knowledge adquired in school and also the development of other social and organizational skills, increased personal maturity and professional learning in a different cultural context, the wealth of experience through contact with people from other countries or improving the knowledge of the language of the destination country. Since the 2012-2013 academic year our students participated in the Erasmus and Erasmus+ program with the completion of On the job training professional module (FCT). The number of mobilities made during 2014/2015 was five, in the form of student placement. These students were studied Higher Technician in Tourist Guide, Information and Assistance and Higher technician in travel agencies and events management. Students did mobilities in companies and countries listed below, carrying out their own company activities, which were put into practice the knowledge acquired at the school. - Tourist office, Bordeaux-France. One mobility. - Galician Centre in Brussels. La Tentation, Brussels Belgium. 2 mobilities. - Your S.R.L. Italy, Rome-Italy. One mobility. - Hotel Carris Porto Ribeira, Porto-Portugal. One mobility. The results that have been achieved by each of the participants were very satisfactory. The participating students developed their own work of each company, thus increasing their knowledge in the sector. Besides this, the experience of living in a different country, surrounded by different customs, people and usual language, has made grow from personal appearance in addition to the intellectual. The students have also improved their CV which provides an advantage in the near future obtaining an adequate job of their knowledge and experiences that will continue to grow over the years.
