International Balkan University (IBU) established new unit, International Relations Office in 2014. One of the main activities is setting the Inter-institutional Erasmus agreements, information, and communication concerning the procedure of mobility done with the interaction of the IRO in the host universities. Cooperation is going mainly through IRO offices and Erasmus coordinators at host universities and through our outgoing students. Excellent, helpful and fruitful cooperation is ongoing with all partner universities. Internal call for student’s mobility, student’s practical placement, staff mobility for teaching and staff mobility for training is announced to the IBU website, IBU Facebook page, IBU announcement board and by e-mail. Selections of the candidates were done by the criteria announced in the internal call for students and for staff. After the deadline of the internal call, internal committee for selection of candidates is making interview with applicants. Realization of 3 student mobilities for studies, 6 student mobilites for practical placement, 1 staff mobility for teaching and 1 staff mobility for training have been realized. All Transcript of Records have been recognized. Also our IRO office in cooperation with the IRO offices from host universities helped the students for accommodation, insurance and visa issues. OLS testing was organized in the computer laboratory at the university, and IT support was provided to students in order to avoid risks. As a support for our students who are taking the OLS exam the university had bought additional computer devices (headphones and microphone devices for OLS testing). After nomination of incoming students IRO office is in contact with the students about the application process, visa procedure and accommodation. On the arrival day the students are welcomed on the airport and transported to their accommodation place by our IRO staff. All academic staff are familiar with incoming Erasmus students and are on their disposal for helping them. On the IRO web site successful stories of the incoming and outgoing have been published. Erasmus + mobility program helped our university from point 0 to point 23 to increase the Inter- institutional Erasmus Agreements with Universities and Organisations. During their mobility for studies students appreciated a lot, different methods of teaching, international students and being part of the Erasmus community, different cultures and languages, and hospitality from the host universities. Some of them entered cultural and language courses of the host universities. During incoming staff mobility for training from Ventspils University College from Latvia, the administrator from IRO pointed out that our student Amantin Qamili is the best Erasmus student, passed all courses with the highest marks. Impressions from Trainer-ship program were most related to the latest technology used in the companies, structure and organisation of work as well as acquired practical skills in their area of studies. IBU broadened the cooperation beyond Erasmus program with majority of the partners through signing Bilateral Protocols for Cooperation. With some of them we are in the process of organizing international scientific conferences, accrediting joint master programs and joint projects..
