Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Lutheran Theological University has been an active member of Erasmus Programme since 2003. Taking our relative small size of students and teaching staff members into consideration, our participation is on a constant level: we spent 3 students and 3 staff-members (2 from teaching staff + 1 from administrative body) abroad. During the last 3 years ? after a consequent effort on internalisation ? we also receive incoming students each year. The Lutheran Theological University has been known as a friendly host institution with a personal-tutorial study-concept for incoming students. Student?s mobility (for studies only) Our efforts have been acknowledged by the Lutheran Church in Hungary, international partners and church organisations as well as the Hungarian Accreditation Committee during the last 3 years. Because of the not sufficient conditions/resources of the new Erasmus+ Programme (scholarship quotas for countries) we had to alter the structure of the exchange programmes for students: in a combined system with partner churches and church organisation we can provide a sufficient support for our students and in that way we can save the Erasmus activity from the collapse in our institution. Longer term benefits are to be observed not only in the period of academic studies, but also in the ?career? (ministry) in the church institutions. Teaching staff mobility and training for administrative staff The reputation of Erasmus teaching staff exchange and administrative staff training has been grown radically during the last 5 years. The interest is constant and the role of Erasmus exchanges in the internationalisation and scientific cooperation with partners abroad is a central one. These connections and concrete cooperation are of a strategic value in the permanent revision of content of study-programmes and research. Although the Erasmus+ is a parallel system for a smaller, church owned institution, it means an important factor in our international/European activity. Our participation is stable and strengthens the traditional and at the same time innovative cooperation with Central, Southern and Northern Europe.
