Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

At the beginning, the project appeared greatly restricted by the limited resources allocated to it. Giving particular reference to student mobility for study purposes, the funding of approximately €765.00 for 3 months appeared totally inadequate to meet the needs of the initiatives planned and indicated in a15 month period. Nevertheless, because of organizational commitments, budget transfers, and the use of other funds (not to mention the additional funds granted during the amendment to the budget) we have not only been allowed to complete the initial commitments but also to triple some values: for example, a 40 month mobility study was undertaken, of which about 22 of those months were covered by Community funds. Funds were divided according to the type of mobility: the objectives of the project involved five participants for student mobility, for a total of 15 months, and 4 teachers-STAFF participants for mobility, for a total of 20 days. The results of the project were as follows: SMS OUT: 14 candidates (12 of I cycle and II cycle), 5 participants were mobilized (4 of I cycle and 1 cycle II) for 40 months; SMS IN: 3 candidates (first cycle), 3 participants were Mobilized (I cycle) for 3 semesters; STA OUT: 3 candidates, 2 participants were mobilized (10 days); STA IN: 3 candidates, 3 participants were mobilized (9 days); STT OUT: 2 candidates (lecturers), 1 participant was mobilized (5 days); STT IN: 1 candidate, 1 participant was mobilized (teacher) ( 7 days). 8 participants who were mobilized (students + staff) were hosted by 7 different organizations which were located in 6 different European countries. The average of credits earned in a semester by outgoing students amounted to 28; the average credits earned in a semester by incoming students was 38. There was a large participation of students in the planned lessons of mobilized teaching staff. Additional activities carried out under the project: Masterclasses were realized through the mobility of STA, "From Lied to Opera" (repertoire Italian Russian French German international). The results are extremely positive and gratifying in as much as they relation to the internationalization and the development of the conservatory's prospects as a whole. The feedback has been more than positive by the participating Erasmus students and not to mention the growing trend of staff participation which has been--until now--limited to the teaching component. This positive trend shows a significant increase in awareness of the potential of the ERASMUS project and more generally of the opportunities offered by the European Community. In parallel, more long-term yet equally important is the collaboration and inter-institutional comparisons which contribute to reflections and experimental teaching; they also serve to promote the modernization of education and administrative procedures.
