Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

SSML Gregorio VII is situaded in the Popolo Square surroungings, in the historical hearth of the eternal city. It was founded in 1989 in Rome as SSIT High School for Interpreters and Translators and after the Bologna Process and the Academic Reform in 1999, then, according to the Ministerial Order of March 2003, the Institute, in 2003, became an istitute at academic level for a First Cycle course of study in Mediazione linguistica, Interpreting and translating matters and foreign languages European and non such as Chinese, Arabian and Russian, and issued Degree at academic level. It operated since 2009 and is located in an historical building situated in via P.S. Mancini, 2, 00196 in Rome. It counts about five hundred students each a/y. After the Degree at SSML Gregorio VII a lot of the former students find an employment in various contract forms in the field of studies such as: Tourism, Communication for international affairs, External Realtions, Interpreters and Translators. The very high percentage of former students who are able to enter the labour market soon after the Degree is regarded as the key of to the sucess of the Institute. In fact students acquire a very high level of competence in various foreign languages with a specific sub-area which examines in depth special jargons and professional methods for interpreters and translators. Choosing matters as foreign languages means to be aware of a multicultural context and to be interested in learning more about foreign countries. In fact our students are very eager to spend their free time abroad so that they can on one hand improve the competence in foreign languages and on the other hand enlarge their network. Erasmus Plus Mobility is a very beloved opportunity that almost each student at SSML Gregorio VII would like to experience. The Erasmus figures at SSML Gregorio VII have been increasing each year, demostrating a growing interest from both students and teachers/staff to make use of this kind of opportunity to visit fboth for study or traineeship or teaching EU-universities and organizations supported by a grant. It means that the Erasmus Office carried out the right actions to involve and foster the European Mobility, which is the most important aim of the whole Erasmus Programme. In fact the Erasmus Office at SSML gregorio VII was able to participate in many different sub-project and actions of the Life Long Learing programme before and now with the Erasmus Plus also even though last year it partecipated in KA2 without success. These activitis contributed to a significant internationalization of the Institute and could be important in order to sign many other inter-istitutional agreements with different universities in Europe. Every year, according with the aims explained in the ECHE, SSML Gregorio VII host a large number of both teachers and students for a mobilty. It means that even though students cannot achieve a grant to be for a mobility abroad, they can experience an international atmosphere inside the university working together with other colleagues such as Erasmus Incoming students or attending courses held from visiting professors. Not olny the usual mobility but also the participation in Erasmus Intensive Programme boosted very much the popularity of the Erasmus Programme in general. We regret a lot to have lost that possibility considering that the fundings for the most complex KA2 are very limitaed to few participants. In our statistic, as usual, since 2012, SSML Gregorio VII has been exploiting the whole budget assigned. It would like to receive more grants to satisfy the high request. A matter of fact, each year the percentage of participating both students and teachers at mobility within the Erasmus Plus Programme has been increasing. That is the reason why, SSML Gregorio VII decided to join a Consortium. The positive results during the first year of co-operation, lead to continue such experience. Thanks to the Consortium both students and teachers of SSML Gregorio VII could receive all necessary information and have severals orientation meetings also during the period when the institution undertook the structural changes. Several students and teachers could benefit of a grant abroad for a mobility as Erasmus Plus participants thank to activities carried out from the Consortium in accordance with the Erasmus Plus office at SSML Gregorio VII. The Erasmus Plus Programme at SSML Gregorio VII becomes more and more wellknow among the new students however the Erasmus Office has been working in order to promote the new Programme using many different ways such as information and orientation days, newsletter, and individual meetings. Convincing both students and teachers that a similar experience is unique and vital in order to be an European citizen and to have the oportunity to work also in different programme countries is of course the mail aim of the Erasmus Office.
