CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT The aim of the training that Aloya School offers its students of Higher Vocational Education is to qualify them in the best way possible for an excellent professional performance in the field they have chosen: healthcare, administration or community and social services. The current world of business demands professionals with a rigorous training, who develop their labour responsibilities, not only in a competent but an excellent way, in an increasingly globalized world; that is why we have participated in the past years in the development of projects for the students and staff mobility within Erasmus+ Programme in a commitment to internationalization, which is yielding results in job opportunities for the participants and in the improvement of their surroundings. OBJECTIVES Mobility of trainees Personal and professional development of the participant, increase in employment opportunities, promotion of synergy, awareness of other cultures, recognition of acquired competences including the foreign language used. Mobility of staff for training Enhancement of pedagogical approaches and school management favouring the internationalization of the training provided in both centres. Promotion of the exchange of know-how improving quality and teaching performance. Competence in foreign languages. Development of partnership between both institutions. Improvement in the European dimension of educational training provided in the centres. Purpose of Objectives: Professional enhancement of participants, impact on daily work environment, not only in the transmission of the knowledge acquired to the professionals from their environment in their respective institutions but also regarding the learning about international educational models aimed at improving students? training and, in this case, an adequate employment guidance. NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS Mobility of trainee: One 19-year-old student of Higher Vocational Education in Anatomical Pathology and Cytology. Future: further education at university; mobility at University College Cork. Level of English accreditation: B1. Mobility of staff for training: 2 teachers of Pre-Primary Education. Seniority: intermediate and low. Mobility at Mira Río School ? Lisbon. Languages used: Portuguese and Galician. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES PERFORMED Mobility of trainees: The participant did her internship in the Anatomy and Physiology Department at Cork University. During her stay, she participated in techniques of molecular biology, aimed at the study of gene expression in mouse muscle. Among these techniques we could highlight the RNA extraction, retrotranscription, electrophoresis and quantitative PCR. During the internship the student was encouraged to explain to her partners the work carried out during her stay by printing a poster. Mobility of staff for training: The participants talked to director, coordinators and teachers; they could notice the education processes and teaching techniques employed; besides they visited the facilities and got to know the technological innovations related to the education field used in the centre. RESULTS AND IMPACT OBTAINED Mobility of trainee: Especially noteworthy during the student?s stay was the collaboration of the tutors assigned as well as their interest shown in her development. The student put into practice fundamental concepts such as arrangement and functioning in a research laboratory, integration in a working group and the development of molecular biology techniques. The immediate benefit gained by the student: improvement in the competences linked to the professional profile; regarding the Education Centre the main benefit is the establishment of a future partnership between both centres. Mobility of staff for training: Enhancement of the teaching quality, educational innovation, understanding of other educational systems and competences linked to the participants? profile. Increase in the ability of producing changes in terms of modernization and international perspective within the educational organization. Enhancement of the quality of work and the activities in favour of the students and their international employment guidance. Better understanding and response capacity to diversity. Greater professional development opportunities, motivation and job satisfaction. Improvement in foreign language competence. Sharing the experience with professionals of their work environment. Development of partnership between both institutions.
