Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The mobility of individuals (KA103) in the framework of the Erasmus+ Program has been an inherent part of the University of Stuttgart’s international activities and its largest exchange program for many years. During the project 2014 (duration of 24 months from June 01, 2014 until May 31, 2016) a total of 430 exchange options (student mobility only) at 232 partner institutions in 28 program countries were available to the participants. Overall 253 participants of the University of Stuttgart completed their individual mobility at 96 partner institutions in 18 program countries during the project 2014 – thereof 3 staff members in the activity ‘staff mobility for teaching’ (STA), 3 staff members in the activity ‘staff mobility for training’ (STA) and 247 participants in the activity ‘student mobility for studies’ (SMS), which included 1 mobility for a single parent and 1 zero grant mobility. For the activity ‚student mobility for traineeship’ (SMP), the University of Stuttgart is member in the mobility consortium KOOR/BEST at the University of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe. During the project 2014 some initial difficulties have occurred, due to the conversion of the program from LLP to Erasmus+ and its adopted innovations, e.g. the extended project phase to 24 months and the unit costs for staff mobility. These challenges are mainly noticeable in the lack of staff mobility actually carried out as well as in the calculation of the mobility grant for students. However the experiences made during the project phase 2014 are very helpful for the execution of the current project 2015 and to further optimize the future project 2016.
