Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The University of Flensburg was re-named Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF) in June 2014: since then the focus in studies, teaching and research has been placed on the theme of Europe. In this context the Erasmus+ program represents an essential role in the internationalisation of the university with respect to Europe. As laid out in the European Policy Statement -and in agreement with the university´s mission statement - special emphasis was placed on the topics of inclusion, minorities and education in Europe during the project period. The increase of student mobility received top priority. It has been the strategic aim to provide the participants with professional, linguistic and personal competences and intercultural sensibility. During the project period, the target has been surpassed by far in the field of student mobility. In the field of staff mobility the agreement was fulfilled to 100% (a total of 87 participants in all activities). In accordance with the internationalisation strategy, student mobility for studies was realized mainly on the Bachelor level, for training mainly on the Master level and in the field of staff mobility mainly for teaching purposes. This reflects the strategic measures taken by EUF, i.e. the introduction of a mobility window in all Bachelor study programs, obligatory traineeships on the Master level (partly to be carried out abroad) and the systematic promotion of teaching staff mobility in Europe. Since EUF in its profile has a focus on Education and Teacher Training, the development of further measures for the increase in mobilities will continue to be of utmost importance. A further focus will be placed upon establishing a central procedure for the academic recognition in order to ensure compliance with the Lisbon Convention.
