Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

To a large extent the mobility project under ERASMUS+ builds on earlier mobility projects conducted at LUCA School of Arts. The main objectives of the project are the enhancement of the quality of teaching and research programmes through international cooperation and the offering of academic and personal development opportunities to both students and staff. In all, 55 LUCA students took part in mobility activities, the vast majority undertook a study abroad period (53), only 2 students did a work placement in another programme country. As regards staff mobility, 22 staff members taught for a period up to one week at a partner institution and 1 faculty member took part in a training activity abroad. The international office (IO) of LUCA seized the opportunity of the introduction of the new project to set up measures to boost internationalisation in the different course programmes. These measures included a.o. installing ‘anchor persons’ for internationalisation in each programme, developing more efficient procedures to govern the internationalisation process and a strategy for adequate dissemination of information. The introduction of the new ERASMUS+ programme and the renewal of the agreements between partner institutions was a stimulus to critically review existing partnerships in view of future collaboration. This has proven to be an interesting but complicated process which we were unable to finish by the start of the programme. The final aim of the exercise is to identify a set of core strategic international partners for LUCA School of Arts.
