Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Execution of the project was initiated by Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania / Polish Open University, in 24 years created and developed a unique style of education based on the best Polish and British standards with transparent marking system as the cornerstone of the didactic process. POU diploma has become a symbol of excellent teaching where the theory is linked with the practice. POU earned recognition in British academic circles. It gained a number of accreditations for its teaching programmes and modes of study including the prestigious Association of MBA, as well as Doctor Honoris Causa titles awarded to the POU rectors in recognition of their input in the development of education. POU priorities for Erasmus +: * creating environment supporting education process; * promoting open mind attitudes and critical thinking; * enabling students to obtain international qualifications; * supporting social and economic growth of EU countries and beyond; * enhancing cooperation with business; * eliminating mobility barriers by means of administrative and electronic support. POU recognizes changes on the educational market, especially in the sector of higher education, increase in competition as well as growing demands of the international labour market. This is why the main aim of the University has always been to provide graduates with the qualifications adequate to the needs of the market. Experience connected with international cooperation helps to create professional working and learning environment with the appropriate technical support and didactic basis. In order to provide Polish and oversees students with high quality practical knowledge and skills (e.g. e-skills, critical thinking, trouble shooting) which will enable them to plan their future in a conscious way and will support development of the organizations and countries they work and live in. POU hired highly qualified teaching and administrative staff. Participation in the Erasmus Programme enabled POU employees to adapt a wider international perspective in terms of gaining new knowledge and skills as well as teaching methods and tools. This in turn has positive influence on student’s experience. The key criteria taken into consideration when selecting partner institutions are as follows: -high quality of teaching, -transparency of the offer and procedures as well as - stimulating learning environment. It was important that the educational offer of partners was similar to the POU offer. At the same time the University was seeking to expand the number of modules offered in English, updating its contents and making the mode of study more flexible (blended learning, e-learning). Due to including Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania / Polish Open University into the structures of Vistula Group ( decision No DSW.ZNU.6013.163.2014.3.KT Minister of Higher Education of 09.02 2015), execution of this project since February 2015r has been continued by Vistula Group. POU cooperated with numerous universities within the Erasmus Programme such as, UK, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and many others. Thanks to the connection of the two universities the number of international partners has increased considerably. Recruitment of students for the SMS and SMP mobility and staff mobility (STA and STT ) took place twice a year. Considering the rather complex process of merger of POU and Vistula Group, the assumed number of mobilities was not achieved in full. As regards students, smaller number of mobilities was executed, 5 SMP mobilities were not executed, there was 1 STA mobility of the staff, that is fewer than assumed in the contract and it was decided to organize additional STT mobility. The following number of people took part in mobility in various categories: Winter Semester: SMS – 3 students Summer Semester : SMP – 4 students, STT – 2 people, STA – 4 people
