Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Oct 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This is a project of Escola Superior de Enfermagem S José de Cluny (P FUNCHAL09), Portugal National Agency (PT01), within the Erasmus+ Program, Key Action Learning Mobility of Individuals, Action Mobility of Learners and Staff, Call 2014 and Round 1. This Project started on 01-07-2014 and finished on 30-10-2015, with 16 months of duration. This project had as objectives to promote: -Staff mobility for teaching between Programme Countries; -Staff mobility for training between Programme Countries; -Student mobility for studies between Programme Countries; -Student mobility for traineeships between Programme Countries. Three of our teachers did mobilities for training (two in Spain, one in Poland) and five students did mobilities for studies (one in Turkey, four in Spain). All the students attended Clinical Curricular Units in several specialized wards. In this situation they met different kind of patients with a lot of different diseases and different ways to express their suffering. On the other hand they could observe, participate and compare the nursing care delivered with their theoretical and practical background. Concerning the teachers, one of them aimed to understand the health and community nursing care organization in another European country (Poland) and also shared her expertise in this domain in Portugal and in Madeira Island. One aimed to understand how and what the Spanish nursing students develop their skills concerning anatomy, physiology and the rehabilitation nursing care. He shared his expertise in this domain with the staff and students. Another one aimed to understand how the nursing students participate in the research projects and also shared her expertise in this subject. She also improved our participation in a joint research project. The participation in the Erasmus+ activities have been very gratified: -All the students had very high marks and excellent qualitative reports from the host institutions. Students were assigned the anticipated ECTS. Some of them were invited to work, after finishing the nursing course, in the wards they have been doing their clinical studies. -Concerning the staff participation, a bilateral cooperation in rehabilitation nursing care is improving more and more and a joint research project is in development. We had just involved 10 newly graduated nurses of our Institution in this project and the Spanish researchers came to promote two workshops about the project. We are sure that our participation in these activities will benefit our students, our staff, our patients and our community!
