PROJECT
FINISHED
Education is constantly changing the way students learn and how instructors teach. Technology is often the driving force behind many of the world’s changes and innovations. In education, creating an e-learning culture is more about developing and tweaking what already exists, sharing a common vision, and doing things a little differently. The purpose of this project is to;
• Identify and outline a strategy for creating an e-learning culture within a school system ready to step away from traditional teaching.
• Learn and adapt to the changes, to create a curriculum fit for the next generation.
• Increase teachers’ own confidence and knowledge with the effective use of interactive whiteboards for teaching and learning within a European context.
E-learning refers to learning and teaching using technological structure and requires the use of information and communication technologies combined with technological structure. An e-learning environment is becoming essential for schools around the world attempting to meet the learning needs of their students. A school’s culture and shared vision is vital to an organization’s successful implementation of e-learning.
The introduction of e-learning resources and new technologies in schools is often a large contributor to the magnitude of change experienced by its stakeholders. It is not always enough to simply provide the technology and equipment required to shift a school’s pre-existing and well established learning culture
Teachers and staff will need to expand on the philosophies and beliefs currently held about teaching and learning. Providing staff developments, professional learning communities, and just-in-time trainings throughout the school year will help establish a common shared vision among all stakeholders. Providing learning opportunities for teachers, students, and other stakeholders to try new technologies, make mistakes, and see the benefits of e-learning for themselves is powerful.
Therefore, during 12 months 10 education staff in our school institution (teachers and stakeholders in the aspects of different fields) will be trained in the aspect of using these technological infrastructures and devices in 3 different countries and in 3 different structured courses related with the topic of the project. In the methodology of the project special emphasize to formal and non-formal education techniques will be given and the activities of the project will be planned in accordance with these techniques.
Current training staff, academic coaches, and other education support staff will also have to adjust their attitudes, knowledge base, and understanding of e-learning. It is likely their job responsibilities and roles will expand and change as the school culture shifts. The development of online training modules, web-based training resources, and becoming e-learning experts is a necessary requirement of education staff as implementation of the change is initiated.
After the project; education staff and stakeholders in our school institution will adjust their attitudes, knowledge base, and understanding of e-learning perception will be changed positively. These changes, will lead to more effective classroom practice via increased student autonomy and the focus shifting from product to process. Therefore, the learner’s point of view is that this two-way traffic of work between teacher and themselves is replaced by a multi-way exchanges from which they can learn. Also, after the project this ongoing process that must be purposeful and intentional for each student in the school atmosphere will change all the all the components of our school institution will have the chance to reach their fullest potential, which will help to establish new strategic partnerships and becoming and international school institution in our longer term strategies compatible with our European Development Plan.
