This Youth exchange consists in developing volunteer activities. The participants would be young people in ages from 13 to 17 years from urban area. The aim of this project is to bring youth to the social reality in which they live, detecting groups with special needs and their problems. To reach this aim, they would get in touch with local institutions such as nursing homes, center for the people with handicap, youth associations, municipalities. The project, in it is second phase, also includes the development of voluntary activities in the place of origin, favouring the temporal sustainability. The methodology will be varied depending on the activity: teamwork, presentations, group dynamics, etc. Expected results: awareness of young people with volunteering, promotion of development of voluntary activities in their usual environment, European awareness, respect for people from other countries, multiculturalism, improvement and care of the environment, education in values, promotion of citizenship, healthy lifestyles ? We see a major impact on participants by contrasting groups at risk of exclusion, the relationship with young people from different countries, intergenerational coexistence (youthelderly), reflection on volunteering (its needs, its benefits, its importance , diversity, etc). There will also be an impact on the beneficiaries (elderly and people from small municipalities) due to the time spent together with young people from different countries. We hope that this activity would help like a catalyst for initiatives in the place where the activity would take place and in participating youth's countries.
