Help Me, To Do It By Myself! - Montessori-Kinderhaus Nohra
Start date: Aug 1, 2014, End date: Oct 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

With this project we want to complete and extend the offers in our Montessori Children's House in Nohra through intercultural experience and action-oriented learning opportunities. The volunteers play the main role with their individual requirements, (life) experience and skills. In the Kindergarten we care for children regarding §§ 2, 22, 22a SGB VIII (social law, book 8). Since 1997 we host (as the carrier itself and in our facilities) volunteers within the European Voluntary Service and have been able to collect a wide range of valuable experience. A particular focus of the project lies on the intercultural learning experiences of children and their families who experience their interactions with the volunteers as normal and can internalize it as an enrichment. Thus, this project makes an important contribution to the socialization of children. The project would thus prevent social exclusion. Another focus is on the intended learning experiences of the volunteers themselves, as they can make an active contribution to the socialization of children in the area of child and youth welfare. But they also learn that they are (with their culture and their values) a part of a sensitive structure, in which day by day over and over again it come to terms, to respect and to find a way of living together.
