Heilerziehungspfleger in Europa - Stärkung interkultureller und fachlicher Art
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Supported by the EU-Program „Erasmus+“, the vocational school Himmelkron organises 3-week trainings abroad for its students.Since the beginning of the project in 2009, 33 of the school’s students gained professional experience in Ireland, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Cyprus and Switzerland.“I would not want to miss one moment”, said Sandro Sternhagen, who had been in Italy with three colleagues in 2012. A festivity including the granting of the ECC-certificates and the solemn handing over of the EUROPASS is a central part of the project. Also in 2016 and 2017, a total of 12 students shall again get the possibility to do a professional training in Finland, Italy, and Austria. Primarily students of the curative care education who are in their second year of training can take part in the project. The practical trainings shall deliver insight into the European working environment to the students who are then supposed to share this insight intensely with other colleagues. An insight into the local everyday work, as well as the dominating frame conditions shall be provided during the three weeks. At the same time, the students shall advance technically as well as personally, and, consequently, achieve a further milestone on their way to the educational objective. The procedure for the realisation of the project has already proven itself within the last years so that the project’s intervention is carried out through informative meetings and appropriate applicant selection and motivation. The vocational school is regarded as signboard for EU-projects in the region and wants to keep and confirm this status with the present request. Throughout Germany, we are one of the few educational institutions in this area, which has provided and organised this project work in such a constant way across the last years.Furthermore, it’s about the strategic long-term orientation towards Europe and the protection of our educational institution via the selective address of potential future students. In times of shortage of appropriate manpower and the educational institutions’ increased competition for the “good” students, we can persuade many people to start a vocational training in our institution by organising such projects.
