This project is educational in focus, primarily musical and linguistic. It has been prepared and organized jointly by the French and English partners, for children aged 8 to 12 in Pays de Bray and Wealden schools. It forms the basis of a network of cultural co-operation entitled ""WEALDEN-BRAY-ARTS"", whose aim is to develop and perpetuate this link through this wide-ranging educational venture which marks a new stage in its evolution since the creation of the partnership between Rencontres en Pays de Bray and the Mayfield Festival in 1997This project is based on a shared artistic programme arising from the traditional repertoire of sea shanties from either side of the Channel.
