Healthy Life - Gesundes Leben
Start date: Mar 1, 2015,
End date: Oct 1, 2015
In our trilateral exchange , entitled HEALTHY LIFE , met each 8 disadvantaged young people from youth centres in Lithuania , Spain and Germany to jointly explored the theme of health , nutrition , meat and food production and the resulting environmental effects and consequences. In this context, each of their own cultural background is also investigated , shared and reflected ( eg handling of waste , their own diet, etc. ). In the small town of Tecklenburg (about 10thousand inhabitants) were the young people a guest together from 23th July to 6th August 2015 in the scout tents, cooked jointly and also helped handcrafted in building a bare footpath for kids. The small construction project was embedded in a non - formal recreational and educational program. With this training program we wanted together with the participants:
- to understand what food and healthy lifestyle for us means
- how we prepare food ,
- where it comes from and how it is produced
- the ecological impact ( based on exemplary examples) have mass production , the transportation of food and monocultures and
- how we can react to it and what we can change as a consumer.
To this question we wanted to explore alive associate workshops with visits of relevant places in our educational program. With workshops and small presentations (experts ) we gave the whole subject an emotional weight to sensitize the participants on the environment and sustainability.
We offered workshops , among others herbs and medicine , kneipp and health , cereals and bread baking, fishing and preparation of a fish, shopping without waste. We are sure that the self-consciousness of the participants was strengthened by the joint project work and also cultural differences and similarities were discovered that can grow friendships and understanding for each other. The young people themselves were guided during the encounter in their encounter to document (blog , website , film ) and the public to present.
