Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project HP@SC promote the active networking amid health oriented sport clubs and Health promotion organizations in order to enhance the education role of sport clubs, to share good practices in the field of Health Enhancing Physical Activity, thus to improve the clubs’ managers’ awareness and capacities to pursue new programs to promote sport benefit for health and personal skills. The project partners elaborated:- the “Join Health Promotion Knowledge Framework for a Balanced Healthy Life” and an on line Sourcebook, which represent a sound support for sport clubs to found new initiatives;- the “Health Promotion Practices Framework”, where good experimental practices are systematized offering a background context to inspire innovative health promotion schemes for sport clubs;- the Action Plan Tool to advantage sport clubs in designing new Health Promotion programs. The Action Plan Tool has been elaborated taking into account studies, researches and the results of experimental actions developed by the partners. The project allowed partners staff, members and participants:- to improve the awareness about sport and physical activities benefits and to start a process of mainstreaming sports as part of healthy lifestyle;- to advance the capacities of coaches to adopt an integrated and comprehensive approach to train and to reinforce the collaboration of clubs with HP experts (nutritionists, psychologists, sports physicians, oncologists, physiotherapists, cardiologists…);- to increase the understanding of the value of physical activity in relation to the personal, social and professional skills. The collaboration allowed the partners to demonstrate how much grassroots sport clubs can contribute to the European Dimension of Sport, whenever the boards, the members and the participants are willing to renew the clubs’ perspective towards a more health oriented one. During the one year and half of project implementation, partners shared different points of view, knowledge and experiences, in order to consolidate the network foundations. In particular, the partners organized HP events, HP weeks and HP training seminar addressing different targets, form clubs participants, kids and youth athletes, their parents, seniors, as well as volunteers, coaches, managers and sponsors. They involved stakeholders and stockholders to increase their awareness about sport benefits and involve them in the designing and the development of new HP programs. The project motivated stakeholders and sponsors to support the promotion of HEPA, within sport clubs, and enlarged partner’s clubs perspectives: from a local to the European and offered participants the Erasmus+ experience. The partnership adopted a holistic methodology and a follow up perspective, which allowed by the end, to launch the Transnational Open Network, the HP-Lab, where academic knowhow and scientific skills meet practices and experiences at grassroots sport clubs for developing new Health Promotion activities. The HP Lab is open to all the sport clubs and organizations committed to implement HP programs and to exchange related results at both the transnational and local levels. It is a solid network of stakeholders, people and organizations that are willing and able to continue working and collaborating on achieving the goals of the project. This entailed several meetings with sports organizations (Official bodies, federations, clubs, schools e.a.) and with public authorities. It required training sessions for trainers, coaches and club’s managers, the deep involvement of stakeholders which are committed to continue working on the objectives of the project in the years to come.
