Following the needs and capacity analysis of the medical universities in Lublin and Lviv as well as the social demand for the development of effective pharmaceutical care systems, the overall objective of the project has been defined as the improvement of the quality of pharmaceutical care for the inhabitants of the Polish-Ukrainian border area by increasing the capacity for the cross-border cooperation of the medical universities in Lublin and Lviv.Project is also about broadening the knowledge, by participation in training courses, study visits and the exchange of experiences of Polish and Ukrainian academics, medical staff and pharmacists with regard to pharmaceutical care, improving the standards of education at medical universities in Lublin and Lviv and creating and testing the joint model of a functioning pharmaceutical system. It will also improve the quality of education by means of developing joint educational programmes for medicine and pharmacy students. Last, it will contribute to the development of 30 pharmacies (during the project) ensuring pharmaceutical care for their customers.Overall cross-border impact of proceject is contribution to the development of cross-border cooperation between Lubelskie Province and Lviv Oblast with Lublin and Lviv medical universities lecturers, students, pharmacists and doctors as participants. The project is important for strengthening the cooperation between Lubelskie Province Local Government and Lviv Oblast authorities, which is included in Economic, Trade, Academic-Technical and Cultural Cooperation Agreement between Lubelskie Province and Lviv Oblast.
