Harmonization of Biotechnology BSc out-put with the Medical Biotechnology MSc in-put requirements at Osijek and Pecs Universities (BIOTECHEDU)
Start date: Aug 31, 2011, End date: Aug 30, 2012 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project plans to harmonize the BSc out-put and MSc in-put requirements between the two universities involved. The main objective is to develop a modular system that is easily applied in biotechnology teaching at both universities. The teaching material will be developed in English to be accessible to students on both sides of the border. Although the primary target group of the project are undergraduate university students, whose Biotechnology BSc diplomas would be accepted in all European and American universities for MSc programs, beneficiaries will also include medical students, teachers and researchers at both universities. Achievements: The joint eff orts to turn the border region into a knowledge and research centre attracting top researchers were reinforced by the elaboration of a course for the experts in the fi eld of biotechnology. The course intended for young well-educated medical experts from the region was not only looking to contribute to the elevation of the quality of the workforce, but had the intent of keeping the best specialists in the region, furthermore it aimed at establishing a chain of co-operation which includes the research and education sectors as well as the local pharmaceutical industry.
