Our school is located in a rural setting and it is a secondary and vocational training school. One of the needs that we have in our center is to reduce failure and dropout in compulsory education, mostly from 2nd year to 3rd year in secondary education. On the other hand, as a center of vocational training, we observed that many students who left the school years ago return to study due to the unemployment that exists in our country. Ending school failure and improving employability is our main goal. How can we get it? We strongly believe that innovation in methodology through ICT (information technologies) makes younger students feel more motivated becasue a motivated student does not abandon the system. Older students need to become citizens with digital skills, to improve their chances of employment. Teachers want to integrate ICT into our classrooms….We have already started to perform tasks to achieve this but we need to train more. On the other hand, the English language is an aspect that we want to improve as it plays a very important role in employability. ICTs combine these two goals since, on the one hand, they improve their digital competence and on the other they have to use English to use them. With Etwinning projects we have realized that ICTs and the English language are very important. These projects help to internationalize the IES Miguel Hernández and also motivate students.The teachers of the centre who are involved in this project have a long teaching experience, a very large job involvement and effort, good level of English and they are currently participating in three different Etwinning projects , they are participating in a working group about the use of digital tools learning and they are promoters of many activities involving the internationalization of the center.We would like to make two observation of good practice activities (job shadowing) in a school of Croatia which has the same purposes of improving their digital capacity and we want to learn from them and share experiences. Moreover, one teacher will get specific training following a course on information technology and he/she will be in charge of forming the rest of the teachers as soon as he/she comes back.The intended results are to achieve an improvement in digital competence, put it into practice in the majority of subjects. This will raise the motivation of our students because the digital environment is the one in which they are more comfortable and even mobile phone will be used as a learning tool. Most of these ICTs use English because this environment requires it so that they will improve their linguistic skills. For older students, this improvement will increase the possibilities of finding employment and we intend to increase the number of people who carry out internships in UE countries. We also want to increase the number of Etwinning projects or KA2 (in fact also have requested one this course).The impact will be enormous. On the one hand we want to reach the entire educational community, inviting them to visit our international blog, giving them permission to enter the Twinspaces. We have the support of City Hall and the local press to share the experiences and the results obtained.In the long term it is clear, we intend to reduce the drop-out and school failure. We will also get students with better training with more possibilities to deal with the world of work. Our center will continue with the internationalization process in which we have been working for several years and the idea is to get citizens suitable for the challenges that we are supposed to have to be citizens of the European Union.
