Városközponti Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Művészeti Iskola is a joint public educational organization of four primary schools and a music school. There are 2713 students at the institute. Our main objectives are improving our colleagues’ foreign language competencies to make them able to communicate with teachers of other countries to acquire knowledge that is only available in foreign languages; improving our colleagues’ ICT skills to be able to apply that during teaching; integration and developing of students with special needs. Having the acquired knowledge our colleagues will also be able to help cooperation among students, professional and partner groups. The participating teachers have already been proving their commitment and skills with their work in different international partnerships. They are committed to professional development having completed several training and postgraduate diploma. Among the participants there are the leaders of the institute, teachers of lower primary pupils, teachers of English, Hungarian, Science, Art, ICT and Sport. The main stages of the project are the preparation stage, the implementation of main activities stage and the follow-up stage. The preparation stage includes the compilation of the support team, participation on a KA1 training, information of the staff about the application, survey of the needs, setting the objectives, searching for partners, coordination with partner schools, finding courses, pre-registering for courses and writing the application. The implementation of main activities stage includes reconciliation with partner schools about the programme, cooperation with the organizers of the courses, organizing mobility activities, feedback, on-going evaluation and monitoring and dissemination activities. The follow-up stage includes assessment and writing the final report. The participants of the project will attend English language courses and methodological courses in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Portugal and Turkey during the first year of the project. Afterwards schools in Spain, Portugal, Germany and Finland will be visited for job shadowing in the second year of the project. The improvement of the participants’ competencies will be successful if the objectives and attitudes of the project are built in their everyday activities. The expected results of the project are commitment and responsibility for professional development; students’ personality development; community development; increase of knowledge in the areas of different disciplines, subjects, curriculum; improvement in planning of educational processes, diverse learning support; rich evaluation methods; effective communication and professional cooperation. The project will have a positive impact directly or indirectly on participating teachers, the whole staff, students, success of the institute. We expect teachers to improve their foreign language competencies, their ICT skills, their teaching skills. We expect students to become more motivated with various teaching-learning methods. Good practices will be introduced to the whole staff through horizontal learning by the participating teachers and this way more and more teachers will be able to use them. As a long term impact efficiency of teaching will improve and the institution will become more popular among the stakeholders.
