Grüne Berufe für Grüne Inseln
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The profession of gardening enjoys a high regard all over the world. The german gardeners are viewed as some of the best in the world just as the English and Irish Gardens. What could be better than bringing them both together. This is the goal of our 2016 application with ERASMUS+21.As the umbrella organisation for the landscaping industries in Northrhein-Westfalia we see it as our responsibility to provide our members with all intruments available to maximise the outcome of their education. We think ERASMUS+ is a superb tool for achieving this, as we have proof from the last two funding rounds. Our aims are practical stints for our trainees in british landsacped gardnes, as their contents and structure have a major infuence on modern gardening and the topic is vital for their vocational education and practical skills. And this is why we also want to educate our personell along those lines because it is paramount that we should be up to date in our VET in order to be able to succeed over our competition in the international market. At the same time a work experience abroad is always strenghgtening ones personal and intercultural abilities and will boost ones mobilty after the training is finished, thus it will be easier to go to the where thework is. This will help to strenghten inner-european exchange and will counteract the lack of highly skilled personell in specific areas. Our trainees will travel in 2 flows consisting of 8 persons each to Southwest England, where CMS Devon Ltd has already provided placements and accommodation for them. These flows will be accompnied by a specially trained person whos sole purpose is to look after them the entire time. The trainees will work at Mt Edgecombe. All the arrangements concerning flights, travel accomodation as listed in the management part will be overseen and arranged by CMS Devon Ltd, this includes excursion and leisure activities as well.Additional trainess will be sent to Northern Irland in 6 flows with 4 trainees each. CMS Devon Ltd is the host in Belfast and provides placements and lodging. The management part is in their hands in the same way as with all other flows (flights, insurance, transport, etc.). Our trainees will have the priviledge of working in one of the worlds top 10 gardens, that is Mt Stewart. Miss Koschemann and her team will be looking after them from day one and accompany the whole process. For our trainers we have set up 6 flows with variable destination and group sizes of 4 to 8, they will be going to Southwest England and Norther Irland respectively. For all the flows CMS Devon Ltd has provided planing and will provide guiding for the study program that has been already worked out. It will contain visits to current and historic gardens and facilties as well as some practical application of the aquired knowledge. The British Isles are and always have been an inspiration for the rest of the world and are thus very desirable destinations for the intstruction of VET staff. And because we are now offering two destinations we are expecting our learning outcomes to become even more valauble and versatile which will increase our overall project value. As the umbrella organisation for landscaping industries in our federal state we are in a position of influence to feed back the knowledge and skills aqiured by our staff and members into our companies and training institutes. On top of that this experience will be of great personal and professional value to our participants by means of developing their character and skills. We firmly believe that every single trainee should have the possibilty for a stay abroad during their aprenticeship, because it will braoaden their horizon and give them new perspectives and better chances when entering the labour market as well as strenghtening them in their private environment. This is our goal; to open up more and further posibilties for trainers and trainees in VET, we believe it will give them an advantage on the labour market and enable us to recruit and develop skilled labourers for the future of our landscaping industries.
