Kvartersteatern has hosted volunteers since 2005 and sees it as an important part of the association's work against xenophobia and racism. Tasks and objectives: The volunteer will learn Kvartersteaterns method of working with the theater as a tool to make people grow. This is by working as an assistant director in one of our teenage groups. (We have nine teenage groups) The group will work out a show that will be presented at the "Young Theatre Festival" in spring 2017. The most important part is not the actual performance without the working process. The process is young people's learning and also of course the volunteer.The idea of learning is that it should be pleasurable and we work with a lot of laughter and humor. The volunteer will have the opportunity for their own development, participating as an actor in Kvartersteaterns adult group who play an outdoor summer Theatre who have premiere in beginning of June and play until beginning of July. The last play had 8 000 spectators.The volunteer will participate in the planning and implementation of the "Young theater festival" as last ten days where all the teenage groups in Kvartersteatern will play. Totally over a hundred young people between 13-19 years old in different groups. Immediately thereafter Kvartersteaterns "Children's theatrefestival" that lasts over a weekend. Over hundred children between 7-12 years will playThe volunteer is naturally able to do Their own projec which really support.The most important is that the volunteer will learn to use the tool theater and develop their own leadership.These skills can the volunteer to use in many situations after the end of the project. Likewise, it is important to learn how we work with youth domocracy. Democracy is the cornerstone of our society and we work a lot with the spread our democratic values to our members. Many young people are also active in sports, but there seems the decisions to be far from young people, and they are surprised when we talk about Member and annual meetings and that they must be involved and decide who will sit in the board of the association, about different activities which takes decisions; and also ensure that there will be results of what they decided.That volunteers learn the way we work so that they can use their knowledge after project completion in their association because our approach transferable to many different activities.
